From energy engineering to finance: Kamran Mirzabayli’s career

Connecting engineering with financial analysis

The transition is not about leaving his industrial experience out of the picture. It is about putting that experience in a financial context. At BP, eiLink R&D and SOL, Kamran worked on operations, production forecasts and economic prioritisation. These activities provide a practical starting point for discussing the assumptions behind an investment.

His 2023–2026 studies at EMLYON Business School led to an MSc Finance — Corporate Finance. The programme covered structured finance, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and financial analysis, building on earlier petroleum engineering studies and an MBA.

The CFA Research Challenge France is an academic project, separate from his professional assignments. Representing EMLYON, he was a national Top 3 finalist in 2024. The work described in his CV includes revenue projections, cost and ratio analysis, and an investment summary.

Since January 2025, Kamran has worked at AdaptEdge Partners in Paris. His assignments cover financial structure analysis, development of a consolidation framework, preparation of consolidated financial statements and inter-entity reporting. He remains in this role.

What a recruiter can explore in an interview
